Enval château
Murat castle, as it is listed on the 1830 cadastral map, was at the centre of a vast estate in the west of the village of Enval. In 1620, the Murat family acquired the seigneury of Enval by way of donation. In the 18th century, they began rebuilding the castle, likely on the site of a former medieval castle. The huge three-storey building, flanked by a wing, was bordered to the south by an imposing supporting wall. It offered an advantageous view over the valley of the Pignols stream.
The château is now privately owned and closed to visitors.
