This square, the starting point of a path leading to Saint-Alyre, was located below the village walls. For a long time, this was known as the « Carnet » wall, which can still be seen on old postcards, and has since been replaced by an embankment. The watering hole fountain was refurbished in 1900.
Going up the Chemin du Lavoir, you can see the beginning of an arch, evidence of the location of a gate in the village enclosure.
